The judging panel includes Mohamed Noor, Riduan Zalani (World Percussion Prodigy) and Tan Boon (Organiser - Singapore Drum Fest).
Growing up in a multi-talented musical family, Mohamed Noor began his music career playing the percussion at the age of 5, at The Victoria Theater. Since 1976 Noor has performed in numerous Radio and Television Indian programs. A multi-talented musician, Noor grew up playing the Tabla, Drums, Mandolin, Keyboards, Clarinet, Indian karnatic flute, saxophone and many more.
Today, Mohamed Noor plays more than 25 over percussion instruments from around the World.
He has performed in many music festivals including the ASEAN Jazz festival (Malaysia),
Heineken Jazz Festival (Singapore), Big Bang Percussion Festival (London) and many more
around the world. With a wealth of musical experience, multi-talented percussionist and
drummer Mohamed Noor has created a unique style for himself playing the drums and
percussion together. He was a featured percussionist among the World’s top 11 drummers at
the Singapore Drum Festival 2007 and 2008.
Mohamed Noor has work with great international musicians like the Gypsy Kinds, Randy
Crawford, Jeremy Monteiro, Jacky Cheung, Wang Lee Hom, Ah*Mei, David Tao and many
more. In May 2012, Mohamed Noor launched his very own debut album, “Rebirth”.
Riduan Zalani is one of Singapore’s most prominent young artists, versatile in performing with various drums and percussions, both traditional and contemporary. As a recognized “rhythm instigator", he has been involved in numerous national as well as international music and arts related projects and festivals. His national contribution includes choreographing a segment of 3Singapore’s National Day Parade 2009, composing a piece in the Singapore Youth OlympicGames 2010 and many more.
This inspiring youth has been awarded the Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award (2006) and
listed as one of Singapore’s top 25 youths under the age of 25 by local newspaper The Straits
Times (2005). His diligence, discipline and skills have made him an essential part of numerous
performing groups in Singapore: Wicked Aura Batucada, OrkeStar Trio, SONOFA, Keris
Movements and others. With a track record of successful projects, performances and
collaborations, Riduan continues to strive towards producing innovative, artistic works and
pursue in-depth knowledge in drums. He is especially keen on the development of a Southeast
‐Asian ethnic drumming culture in a contemporary setting and bringing international interest to
the musical traditions of the Asian heritage. His passion in this area has led him and fellow
Rebana artisan, Yaziz Hassan to form, “NADI” - a dedicated collective, striving to instil different
approaches and ideologies in these forgotten Malayan drums.

The Band & Programme Director of OneHeartBeat Percussions since its formation,
Syed is a well-rounded music educator trained in the art of facilitating Community Drum Circle, Health RHYTHM and Developmental Community Music.
As a REMO Artist Endorsee, he is given the support to promote Community Drum Circles
in Singapore. In recognition of his dedication, Syed is a proud recipient of the Citation of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding contribution to percussion education by the Percussive Arts Society (USA).
Tan Boon is a passionate advocate of drumming arts in Singapore. He is the founder and
director of Singapore Drum Fest since 2007 and also a drummer and percussionist cum
educator for the past 19 years.
After the inaugural Singapore Drum Fest 2007, the drumming scene in Singapore became
vibrant with many drumming artists being endorsed by world famous drum brands and many
drumming schools that were birthed started with healthy enrolment. Post Drum Fest events, the
drumming champions that came through from the drum competitions held by Drum Fest such
as Gilbert Nogales (PHI), Daniel Morledge (USA), Er Chow Kiat, Aaron James Lee, Demas
Narawangsa (best foreign contestant from Indonesia),...all of whom, boast credible resumes
and accolades of their own.
In addition, Singapore Drum Fest has been a constant source of inspiration & platform to all
musicians, bringing to the Drum Fest stage 70 artists in total, out of which 36 are renowned
musicians from countries such as USA, UK, AUSTRIA, AFRICA, SWITZERLAND, GERMANY,
AUSTRALIA, JAPAN, TAIWAN, INDONESIA & MALAYSIA. In 2009, Singapore Drum Fest
stepped out and continued to share its passion to engage and involve more youth in music, and
nurture wholesome activities such as participation in National Events like National Day Parade.
Singapore Drum Fest was also invited to be the drumming consultant for National Day Parade
Show 2009/2010 and the 2010 Youth Olympic Games.
Boon also instructs, choreographs and facilitates the Urban Drum Crew that have performed at
more than 550 corporate events till date.
Ms. Jeanette Wong is DBS’ Group Executive responsible for the Institutional Banking Group which encompasses Specialised
Corporate and Investment Banking, Enterprise Banking and Global Transaction Services. Jeanette also oversees the international countries in the DBS Group’s portfolio. Prior to her current appointment, she was the Chief Financial Officer for five years and was responsible for financial and management reporting of DBS Group and capital management. She also led the Group's financial initiatives, including capital fund raising, mergers and acquisitions.
